About Me

My name is Elisabeth Joy. I am an undeserving sinner who by the amazing grace of God was made a child of the King and joint-heir with Jesus. Although I was raised in a Christian home, as a pastor's daughter, it was not until I was fifteen years old that I came to saving faith in Jesus Christ.

I am the fifth child of six and was name after the Elisabeth in the Bible. The reason my name is spelled with an "s" instead of a "z" is because that is the spelling in the King James Version.

I love music and really enjoy playing the piano and psaltery. I started to play the piano when I was eight years old and was introduced to the psaltery when I was seventeen. In August of 2011, I was asked to start playing the piano for the church our family is currently attending. It has been quite the learning experience for me! I am very grateful for a patient congregation.

I love singing the old hymns and learning the stories behind the people who wrote them. I also love looking up ALL the verses to various hymns on Cyber Hymnal. I wish hymns books today contained more of them. For example, did you know that Amazing Grace has 7 verses? Come Thou Fount has 5; Jesus Loves Even Me has 6; Just As I Am and How Firm A Foundation have 7; Abide with Me and Rejoice Ye Pure In Heart each have 8;  and The Sands of Time Are Sinking has 19! Okay...I'm stepping off my soap box now.

I am a bookworm. I recently purchased a Kindle. I absolutely love being able to take almost all of my books with me in such a compact way.

I also love to bake, cook and experiment with new recipes. My brothers are always willing to help me by taste-testing each new recipe. Due to some health issues I have faced recently, I am currently working on making healthier recipes.

In the fall of 2011, I finished my job as a cashier and demo clerk at Sobeys and started my own housecleaning business. The Lord has provided just the right amount of customers that I need. I really love what I do.

My hope is that my life will bring honor and glory to my Savior.
